Fall is coming and pups are running!!!

kimberglund98

August and trainig season is slowly starting, that means it´s time for a little update frome the kennel. What have happened during the summer and whats up for the upcoming season.

So haven´t had much time to post anything on social media about how we are doing here at ARH so i tought let´s put it all in one post so every one get´s a update. With some changes in our day to day rutines where that our dogs are living with my parents in Rovaniemi where we builded a new kennel for the dogs this past spring. Since Pasvik trail we have had that system that i have been home (in Hämeenlinna) spending time with my family for three weeks at the time and one week up north working with all the stuff thats going on in the kennel, while im home my super parents are taking such good care of the dogs and that have been a real big help for me and my health.

In may we got to welcome two litters of puppys. We got 5 out of my own Ilvesvaaran Älli and Nekk from Frozen Lake Husky, from this litter we kept two pups (Molly and Fritz) while the rest did go to Frozen Lake Husky´s kennel. Then our own Shira gave birth to 9 pups whos father is Jim Beam, also from this litter we kept two puppys (Ipa ans Lager) and the rest went to Frozen Lake Husky. Puppys are now 3 months old and are looking very good and especially Lager is going to bee a big boy :D .... Just like his father Jim and Uncle Jack. Molly looks to be a fast runner, hope she also will be a leader.

At the moment we got two sides of our kennel, one side is for the adults and a second side for the puppys and house dogs. We got built a running area for the adults so we can free run them every day while taking care of the every day stuff like cleaning the pens and refilling a cleaning the water buckets. It also gives the uppertunity to have a mass feeding with all dogs free and just having a big family dinner toghter, that works like a good trainig for the dogs to keep liking one and another with no fights. Off course the pups also wanted a free running fence (Kindergarden :D) so we built one for them too.

The summer went quite nice with time with my family and new born doughter (well shes allreday 4,5 months) and taking time for myself to kind of rest and get back up on my feets after what happened two years ago. I wanna thank my parents for a great job done with the dogs, i cuold not have wished for a better way to welcome my dughter to this world and get to spend so much time with her. Sure i miss my dogs and my friends up north but hey, soon we are working o asses of togehter and enjoying it. But for what it is worth my mental health have had time to heal and now i feel happy and stronger than ever.

So whats next??

We are heading in to new season with 22 strong and good dogs out of those dogs 16 are my race dogs. We have planed to take 10 dogs in januray to Lapland Quest, in february we might go to Bergebyloppet with a team of 12 dogs, and from there we are heading towards Finnmarksloppet in march with 8 best dogs. As usual we are going in early april to Pasvik Trail to finish up the season with a team of 10-12 dogs, that is going to be the first race for atleast one youngster and lets se if we get some other dogs that stand out during our trainings. This might sound like a lot but let me tell you that we are also working while trainig too :D

In early august when i was up north i had the chance to run my two teams 3 times each and looks to be a hell of a season, dogs looked super strong and we did do much better than expected. In september, october and november i will spend three weeks training up north and one week home with my family. We hope that we will have a great trainig season from september forward.

So this is really all i can say for now! Lets keep em lines tght this fall and if your not following us in Facebook and Instagram go and do it now ;) Also if any one need new lines for this new season just send me (Kim) a pm and lets get you brand new lines. Mush on eveybody!!!
